Mermaid Parade celebrates 40th anniversary after 2-year hiatus
For the first time in two years – mermaid, sharks and Jack Sparrow took over Coney Island on Saturday for the 40th anniversary of the annual Mermaid Parade.

from all boroughs came out to show off their creative costumes in hopes to
impress the judges.
“I’ve been
so impressed. Everybody put so much work into their costumes,” says Roxy
Alloway,
one of the judges.
