Union members of 32BJ SEIU protested Tuesday for what they call a fair contract.
32BJ SEIU represents property service workers in the Hudson Valley. The workers say they cannot afford to continue living in the region.
Hundreds of workers, along with Westchester politicians, took part in a march Tuesday evening. If a contract is not reached by Sept. 30, the workers say they are prepared to strike.
The union is currently negotiating with the Building and Realty Institute of Westchester. A spokesperson from that organization told News 12 that they are optimistic a deal will be reached before the end of the month.
