Merging schools will be the topic of a Suffern Central School District meeting on Tuesday.
Under the plan, five elementary schools would be combined into four. Two buildings would be for kindergarten to second grade and the other two buildings would be for third to fifth graders. The remaining building would be repurposed for the district or become a Rockland BOCES facility.
Suffern Central School District Superintendent Dr. Eric Gundersen tells News 12 the consideration comes as more young children are attending private religious schools.
School officials will meet on Mountain Avenue in Hillburn at 7:30 p.m.
