Progress was made today for the Saw Mill River Daylighting Project in Downtown Yonkers.
The Daylighting Project, a partnership funded through city and state money, has become synonymous with renewed interest in Yonkers redevelopment and showcasing the once buried Saw Mill, a tributary of the Hudson River.
Mayor Mike Spano shared the latest update on the project, which includes a one-acre park in an area of the city known as Chicken Island.
"We want to continue daylighting the river because it seems to attract art and business, especially high-tech business. So we want to make that available," he said.
