Mayor Adams: NYPD increasing its presence at religious and cultural sites in wake of US bombing Iran

Mayor Eric Adams says he has ordered the NYPD to increase its presence "around religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites throughout the five boroughs" in the wake of United States bombing three sites in Iran.
On X, the NYPD acknowledged that it is stepping up patrols at religious, cultural and diplomatic sites around New York City.
The NYPD added that it is also coordinating with its federal partners on the situation.
Police says it will continue to monitor for any potential impacts to the city.
On the state level, Gov. Kathy Hochul says she is "closely monitoring the evolving situation in Iran alongside federal and local partners."
Hochul added that "New York State Police are working to protect at-risk sites and fight cyberattacks."
