A hand-crafted wedding ring lost nearly 2 years ago washed up on shoreA wedding ring engraved with the image of a surfer was lost while surfing almost two years ago, and over the weekend, the ring washed up on the shore and was reunited with its owner. Chris Jones went surfing back in October of 2018 in Deal, and experienced the sinking feeling when something valuable goes missing. A hand-crafted wedding ring engraved with the image of a surfer slipped off his finger to never be seen again – until now. 
The Town of North Hempstead is launching a summer drive-in movie seriesFilms will be projected onto large outdoor screens for residents to enjoy a night out, while also following social distancing protocols. The first movie to be shown will be "The Goonies" on May 23 at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.
Up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper Nick Blixky was fatally shot blocks from his homePolice say officers arrived at 200 Winthrop St. around 9:30 p.m. and found the 21-year-old with several gunshot wounds. The rapper, whose real name was Nickalus Thomspon, was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/King County, where he was later pronounced dead. It is unclear if Thompson knew the shooter and there was no word on a possible motive.

The Westport Garden Club has created Flower Friday pop-up displays following its plant sale cancellation:  They say every Friday a temporary display will bloom in an undisclosed location. The first pop-up display debuted in time for Mother's Day near the Saugatuck Congregational Church. The club says it normally specializes in annuals, but perhaps "Flower Friday" will cultivate a new tradition.
