Rough conditions on the Hudson River have caused a temporary halt to the search for a missing woman.
Authorities tell News 12 that the woman’s husband says she went missing around 5:30 a.m. after riding her bike to the Piermont Pier. They say the woman entered the river after allegedly leaving her bike at the pier.
The Piermont Fire Department and the Rockland County Sheriff's Department are coordinating the search south of Mario Cuomo Bridge. Emergency responders, boats, and divers from Nyack, Thiells, Stony Point, and Mahwah also took part in the effort.
Westchester County assisted as well, launching marine units to aid in the search. A police helicopter was scanning the river from the air, while authorities say bloodhounds were used to comb the shore.
Officials say they will resume the search when conditions improve.
Neither authorities, nor the woman's husband, have said what prompted the woman to go to the river in the first place.
