Massive search comes up empty in LI beach bodies case
New York authorities investigating the killings of 10 people whose bodies were found strewn along a desolate beach highway on Long Island have found no new evidence in their latest search.
An official says investigators returned to the crime scene Monday for clues that might lead them to a New Jersey prostitute whose disappearance prompted the initial investigation.
The search was a follow up to aerial surveillance flights conducted last spring by the FBI of the a highway leading to Jones Beach State Park.
A Suffolk County Police official says most of the areas in the latest probe had already been searched. About three dozen officers and 10 dogs were used.
