A blaze erupted inside a home in Melrose, sending massive clouds of thick smoke billowing into the neighborhood.

Citizen app footage taken around 2:30 p.m. Friday shows flames shooting from the home on East 160th St. as firefighters operate from stretched ladders above.

Notify NYC says the fire escalated to a third alarm, warning those nearby to close their windows.

News 12 reached out to the FDNY for information and is awaiting a response.
