A firefighter is recovering this morning after battling a large brush fire in Northern Westchester late last night.
The blaze broke out around 11 p.m. on Route 100, just south of the intersection of Twin Knolls Drive in Somers.
Seven departments, which included 75 firefighters, were called in for mutual aid. It took nearly two hours to get the fire under control and another hour to check for any hot spots.
The injured firefighter was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for exhaustion.
Officials say a tree limb that fell on a wire in this weekend's storms may have possibly sparked the blaze.
