A statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was unveiled Thursday outside the County Courthouse in White Plains.
Legislator Clinton Young (D- Mount Vernon) says his dream of having the statue erected to honor a great American has finally come true. The quote on the base of the statue reads, ?Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,? a fitting message considering the statue is located outside the County Courthouse.
There was a ceremony with King?s close friends, including Westchester residents Dick Gregory and Ruby Dee. They talked of the civil rights leader?s accomplishments and how his legacy will be remembered.
