Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a Walgreens drug store in Yonkers late Friday afternoon.
Employees of the store on Yonkers Avenue say the suspect walked up and down the aisles before the robbery.
Afterward, police say he ran out the front door and around the back of the building. His escape was captured by a surveillance camera.
Police say the suspect, who is believed to be a Hispanic male in his 30s, walked up to the counter, told a female pharmacist he had a gun and demanded money.
?I don't think anybody realized what was going on,? says Debbie Traynor, of Yonkers, who was at the store during the heist.
According to employees, the suspect also asked for narcotics, but only made off with $700 in cash after the pharmacist told him she did not have access to the drugs he wanted.
No one was injured in the robbery, but the incident now has many customers concerned for their safety since it happened in broad daylight.
?It's shocking to know it was robbed in broad daylight,? says Tracie Lampley, of White Plains. ?I wouldn't think something like that would happen in this area.?
