A manhole explosion Wednesday morning caused a massive electrical blackout in Mount Vernon.
News 12 is told the manhole popped on the intersection of Gramatan Avenue and Centre Street around 9 a.m.
Con Edison says more than 100 customers were affected by the power loss, but had their electricity restored Wednesday evening.
The site of the explosion was closed off on Thursday for last-minute repair work between Birch and Cedar streets.
Although the investigation into the sudden explosion is ongoing, the utility company shared no injuries were reported and gas was not involved.
