Police apprehended an 18-year-old Bronx man and charged him in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old at FDR State Park Saturday night.
Shanori Knibbs allegedly shot Jamal Williams in the leg inside the park near Lot 2 just before 8 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
When police arrived, Williams was on his way to Westchester Medical Center and they found Knibbs in a nearby parking lot. Authorities still are searching for the handgun.
?It was the end of the day for the park,? says Maj. Michael Cappuccilli of the New York State Parks Police. ?It actually could have been worse if it was during midday when more people were here.?
Knibbs faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Williams was treated and released, but police say although he admits he was shot, he isn?t cooperating with the investigation.
