A man was found bleeding profusely after a street stabbing in Mount Vernon overnight.
Mount Vernon police say they found a man with stab wounds around 12:30 a.m. today on the corner of South Fifth Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road outside the Garden Bar and Grill. The man was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
A bystander who didn't wish to be identified told News 12 today that the victim was stabbed on Dyre Avenue in the Bronx and staggered one block to the Garden Bar. "I know the guy. He's a young guy. He actually just got hired at UPS. He just got a good job, he's a good kid. He's not in the streets running wild. He might have been getting off the train and coming up the block and whatever happened has happened and took place. He got away and made it to where he felt safe and said 'help me.'"
There is no word yet on a motive for the stabbing. No arrests have been made.
