A man who lost control of his car drove through the front of a packed New Rochelle deli Sunday, police said.

Witnesses said a Honda crashed through the glass window of a Bagel Power in a shopping center off Wilmont Road around 12:45 p.m. Witnesses said it was a close and frightening call, but no one was injured.

According to New Rochelle police, the driver said the car slipped out of gear and shot forward.

Patrons complained the curbs are too low, and a similar situation occurred there two years ago.

The owner said she will try to reopen Monday.

Police have not filed any charges against the driver.
