A Yonkers man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his girlfriend early Wednesday.
Police say Nathaniel Grant, 49, was found walking naked and bloody on Glenwood Avenue. Sources say his girlfriend, 56-year-old Carol Finch, was repeatedly stabbed inside the couple's apartment they shared for 16 years.
The killing marked Yonkers' first homicide of the year.
Grant appeared in court for arraignment Friday, looking dazed and confused. He was officially charged with second-degree murder. Grant's attorney told the judge that her client is undergoing psychiatric care at the Westchester County Jail, where he is currently being held.
Grant was initially hospitalized with stab wounds, but police sources say they are likely self-inflicted.
There is no word yet on funeral arrangements for Finch.
Grant is due back in court April 8.
