Police say a man has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash that killed a 23-year-old man last month in Yonkers.
Yonkers police say Jesus Villanueva was found lying in the street early in the morning back on March 8.
Now police say they have arrested and charged 25-year-old John Martinez in connection with the death.
According to police, surveillance video of a gray Honda Civic led them to track down Martinez all the way to Connecticut.
"I feel a little bit of relief because they got him but that doesn't mean...I'm hurt because my son...I'm never going to see my son again," says his mother Rosa Villanueva.
Neighbors in the area say they're grateful for the police work and feel good knowing their is some sort of justice for the family of Jesus Villanueva.
Villanueva has a final message to her youngest son.
"Papi I love you so much and I miss you," Villanueva says. "I miss you a lot."
John Martinez has been charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death. He's being held at Westchester County Jail and is due back in court April 17.
