yesterdayA man has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child in Harrison after police say he approached a 12-year-old girl.
Investigators say residents reported a suspicious man harassing a girl who appeared to be in distress by Gainsborg Avenue and Hancock Street on Friday.
The man, Augustus Balsamo, told police he stopped to ask if the girl was OK and if she knew where she was.
Investigators said that was not the case. and charged him with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
