State police say a man burned his own car last year and reported a fraudulent insurance claim.
They say they found William Duryea's car on fire in Hasbrouck Park in Kingston back in December last year.
Police say he told them that he left his keys in the car when he went into work and that someone must have stolen it.
An investigation found that he had his car burned and filed an insurance claim.
Duryea is facing charges of arson, insurance fraud and falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement.
He's due in court Wednesday.
