A tense standoff with police ended peacefully after a man barricaded himself inside a home in Yorktown today.
Police say they received an anonymous tip that a man in his 40s was suicidal and might have weapons inside a house on Larkspur Road at around 11 a.m.
A family member called police with the same concerns.
As a result, Yorktown schools went on lockout.
The man left the house without incident after requests by police at around 2 p.m.
"We didn't know if he did have weapons. We had to show some concern for the people in the neighborhood, and we exercised caution in removing him from the house. Nobody from the police side or the gentleman himself was injured," says Yorktown Police Lt. Tom Genter.
