The man accused of shooting a Middletown police officer now faces up to 40 years to life in prison for attempted murder.
The Orange County DA has indicted Desean Owens, 29, in the shooting of Officer Evan Barone on Aug. 29.
Officer Barone was responding to a domestic violence call on Myrtle Avenue when he was shot in the arm.
Owens is being held on $1 million cash bail or $3 million bond.
