A Mamaroneck veterinarian is helping in the Harvey relief efforts by nurturing storm-ravaged dogs back to health and even bringing some of them back to Westchester.
Dr. Gina Antiaris, a senior veterinarian at Miller-Clark Animal Hospital, says she helped dozens of dogs while in Texas. Some of the dogs that were left behind by their owners as the storm barreled through had issues including broken hips and liver and hearing problems.
Antiaris says she brought back some of dogs, and that there are at least 100 more dogs coming to the area from Texas by the end of the week.
Antiaris says she is planning another trip back to Texas at the end of the month.
