As the fight against ISIS intensified, Mamaroneck residents gathered in support of the people of Paris with a vigil Tuesday evening.
The congregation on Mount Pleasant Avenue was a show of solidarity with France after terror attacks killed 129 people in the country's capital.
In attendance was Cristophe Bourgus, who moved to Mamaroneck from France in April. He said he was touched by the outpouring of support in his new community for his old one.
"Being here with American friends and French friends makes us feel good," Bourgus said.
Village Trustee Dave Finch says there is a large French presence in Mamaroneck, including the French-American school. He noted that many people remained at the location long after the vigil ended.
