Emergency crews and utility workers in Yorktown are working to get things repaired and restored quickly after strong winds left behind damage Friday.
The town supervisor says initially around 800 people were left without power. That number has dropped drastically in a short period of time. The supervisor credits that to the utility crews working quickly.
There are still road closures due to some damage.
They include:
-Evergreen Street between Loder Road and Route 35
-Old Kitchawan Road North between Arcady Road and Kitchawan Road
-Shelly Court
-Hunterbrook Road between Baptist Church Road and Route 129
-Hanover Street between Boone Road and Route 118
-Lee Blvd/Hill Boulevard- traffic signal on flash
Officials are urging people to stay clear of down power lines and assume all wires have power running through them.
