Here’s what you need to know:
- It’s cool and mostly cloudy this morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.
- Today will be milder with a blend of sun and clouds. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.
- This week will be dry and warmer than normal with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Fire weather danger is slightly elevated over the next few days with warmer temperatures, low humidity and gusty winds expected. Record highs are possible by Wednesday afternoon. The record is 75 degrees, setback in 2022. A cold front will move through our area Wednesday night into Thursday, bringing cooler weather and gusty winds.
- Near seasonable temperatures return on Saturday with loads of sunshine. The chance of rain holds off until Sunday night into Monday. This could be some beneficial rainfall associated with a cold front and some moisture from the remnants of Rafael. It's still too soon to know exact details, but worth watching. - WATCHING THE TROPICS: There are two areas of interest in the Atlantic that have a chance of development in the next 7 days. Tropical Storm Rafael formed last night in the Caribbean. It is forecast to intensify to a Cat 1 hurricane tonight into tomorrow and impact the Cayman Islands, western Cuba and Jamaica. Tropical storm conditions are likely over the Florida Keys into Wednesday. It is too soon to determine what impacts Rafael will have in the northern gulf coast. However, heavy rain will spread into Florida/ Southeast. Stay tuned for updates.
