A Putnam County man has been sentenced to three years' probation for his role in the January 2020 riot at the Capitol.
Robert Ballesteros, of Mahopac, pleaded guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol, which is a misdemeanor.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington says the 27-year-old must also perform 40 hours of community service and pay $500 in restitution.
There were about a dozen Hudson Valley residents arrested for their alleged roles in the riot.
Ballesteros was the first to plead guilty.
