Jeremy Sanz and his crew are gearing up for another busy morning over at Grey's Donuts in Bronxville, their brand new, second location in Westchester County.

"We're making the donuts till about 3:30 in the morning every night," Sanz said. "There's not much sleep going on in the last week or so, but it's okay. The customers are worth it."

Named after Sanz's son, Greyson, he and his wife originally started the business on wheels as a food truck, offering a variety of flavors for donut lovers young to old at events throughout the region.

"If you ever see [Greyson], he'll tell you he's the owner," Sanz said. "He'll say, 'Can we go to my donut shop?' He's an inspiration towards some of the donuts... we have everything from your frosted with sprinkles to carrot cake to cotton candy to animal cracker....the whole nine. There [are] about 20 flavors in our display case every day...We want to keep giving our customers something new to try every day. We don't want you to come in and just have the same flavors every day. So, every day you come in, there'll be a core flavor selection plus seasonal flavors."

However, in addition to traveling to different places all over the region, Sanz wanted to have a permanent spot where customers could come and buy their favorite donuts at any time. So, Grey's Donuts opened its first permanent location in New Rochelle. Then, its second location was solidified in Bronxville earlier this month, giving customers from all over the Hudson Valley the chance to try all its tasty treats.

"The customer reaction has been amazing," said Sanz. "We love our customers. Our customers love us...we see the same faces coming in two weekends in a row, bringing the donuts to birthday parties or school functions...It's just been amazing."

Grey's Donuts' new location is open at 96 Kraft Ave. in Bronxville, and the New Rochelle location is still open at 20 Anderson St. Sanz also plans to continue bringing the original food truck to events throughout the region this spring and summer, as well as selling Grey’s Donuts at local farmers' markets throughout Westchester.
