A special luncheon was held in Tarrytown Friday to honor the accomplishments of Girl Scouts, both past and present.
Hundreds gathered at the DoubleTree by Hilton, including Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad and Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore, for the Girl Scout event.
The luncheon, emceed by News 12's Grace Noone, honored the organization's community partners, but also recognized the accomplishments of Girl Scouts including Claire Houston, whose team built a robot as part of a tech challenge for high school students.
"I'm the captain of the team this year, and it's been one of my favorite years being on the team with an awesome group of girls," said Houston.
More than 200 people packed the hotel's grand ballroom to say thanks for the hard work and leadership shown by the more than 31,000 Girls Scouts throughout the Hudson Valley.
The Girl Scouts are also celebrating the organization's 103rd anniversary this year.
