Bronx residents living with severe illnesses are enjoying healthy meals this holiday season thanks to a local nonprofit organization.
Nonprofit organization God's Love We Deliver delivered 3,900 meals across the Bronx this Christmas Eve.
Helen Handsehuah is one of thousands of residents getting a holiday meal by God's Love We Deliver. Twice a week, God's Love We Deliver visits the Handsehuahs. Handsehuah says the healthy entrees have helped her husband who suffers from dementia.
Ralph Wilson from God's Love We Deliver says that the organization firmly believe all meals for the ill and hungry people of the Bronx should be delivered to them with love.
The healthy meal packages include Cornish hen, corn chowder, vegetables and a dessert. Each package also includes a personal touch, decorated with messages and holiday greetings from students.
