And heading back to work and back to school this week. Here's what you need to know, starting off really mild, but the whole week isn't going to end up that way. In fact, some chilly days ahead and some chilly nights ahead of us as well. There are a couple of changes with the forecast. At first, we thought we'd see a little bit more rain trying to sneak in here midweek or even some snowflakes. But that forecast has changed. You'll see that here a future cast as we go our by heading into the morning, temperatures barely cooling. So it will be a milder start with forties, plenty of sunshine on the way. And then in the afternoon, more clouds will move in. But these clouds are not bringing any rain or snow, which is great news and temperatures are going to be mild in comes the cold air, temperatures on Tuesday waking up are going to be in the thirties again. So you will need the warmer coats. So Monday's high as fifties, this is above average winds that we're going to be picking up 10 to 20 miles an hour. And by the time we get to the evening after the sun sets. Well, it's going to feel quite chilly temperatures dropping into the thirties and it will be much colder, waking up on Tuesday. So here's a look at that extended forecast, dry weather. Now through most of the week for Tuesday and Wednesday, we do have some sun clouds in there but temperatures are only in the forties during the day dropping back to near 30 degrees at night. First night of Hanukkah, it will be colder dry weather as the week wraps up. And then next weekend, look at those temperatures go. There is a spike in temps, highs back into the fifties for a time and there's also a chance of rain, but that's one week out on Sunday. So be sure to stay with us this upcoming week for much more.

Stanford tonight as we joined now by meteorologist Michelle Powers, Michelle, what can you tell us what we're still looking at the conditions outside. There's some fog, a little bit of rain on the way before we get to the morning. But by the time the sun rises in the morning, the weather will improve temperatures to start will be milder, it'll be dry. So I don't foresee any incidents or anything major due to the weather. Now, what to wear, you definitely want something warmer for the morning. Temperatures will be milder to start in the forties but still grab a jacket layer it up. And by the afternoon it's going to feel a little bit warmer. More clouds coming in during the afternoon but staying dry, not so dry right now, we're not there yet. The west winds haven't come in yet, but eventually they will and then temperatures are not as the new week starts with some forties and fifties, but this won't last temperatures start to cool tomorrow night. It will be a much colder, start waking up on Tuesday with thirties. Here's a look at that extended forecast going forward. Highs in the forties. Lows in the twenties, Tuesday and Wednesday, first night of Hanukkah will be colder and then temperatures go up by next weekend with a chance of rain.

Well, it was a gloomy, a gloomy day rather, but the sun will come out for that walk tomorrow in Tarrytown. Right. Edison. Yeah, I think so. Kevin, we're gonna be seeing some breaks in that cloud that getting peeled away. So you perhaps and a few others are gonna maybe go out and about to do some running or some jogging or at least go out for a nice stroll where as you make your way on in through the 11 o'clock hour and a little bit after that, we're peeling away that layer of clouds getting that sun to shine on down temperatures though. Look at that not bad. Get up and towards the low fifties around 11 or so. But as you move on in towards that time frame, where was the showers move away? That fog is lingering around. Some spots may have some pockets of low visibility and for the weekend it's split Saturday, a nice day, Sunday, not so much the case. And then towards next week, we do go dry, but we do see a little bit of some colder air heading all wet. So, speaking of patchy fog, you can barely make out the Cuomo bridge in the distance. Earlier Friday evening, we will be able to see the spot. There's all nicely lit up in red. Not so much the case anymore. I'm looking at that platter and white points. We're keeping that cloud cover around pretty much until noon time as those temperatures only go down towards the mid forties and then rising after that, we're having an area of low pressure, pushing up warmth and moisture up this way. And as a result of that, we're getting that patchy fog to come on down, keeping the cold air away from us in towards your visibility forecast. You can see across Rockland County, Westchester County, Putnam County even. That's where we're seeing some of those low lying areas, some pockets, some lower visibility that will fade away heading in towards the middle of the day as we get that sun to shine and shine on down and break that cloud deck. So 815 in the morning, we got 42 degrees in Newburgh, 42 as well. In Yorktown Heights, you can see about one or two o'clock peeling away the clouds getting some sunny breaks, temperatures getting up in towards the mid FF and several spots then getting up in towards your Saturday night scatter showers slowly trying to push on in before midnight. So prepare yourself if you have any Saturday night plants. Then overnight we see all enough pockets of light rain come through, but we see more rain move on in after lunch time and maybe some batches of moderate to heavy rain time frame right there. 315 Newburgh be on the lookout near Harrison to see some moderate rain falling on down still have that rain falling on down towards seven o'clock. It should be wrapping up afterwards and we go towards your Monday morning commute with drier conditions, breezy winds and then unfortunately, guys, temperatures getting colder after that.

Let's talk about the wet weather. Now, we're over here in the weather center with meteorologist Julian C right. Julian. I feel like it has been raining since we all woke up this morning and it really pretty much has, especially with the light drizzle. Now that we're starting to transition to the good news is that when we wake up tomorrow, Tama, it's not going to be rain. I know finally. Right. So getting into what we can expect for next or for the start of next week, Monday in itself, we are looking for drier conditions and sunshine. So we are into our last remnants of rain across the island and we saw quite a bit of it for today near an inch for many of us. About uh three quarters of an inch from the airport. Jefferson and much of Suffolk County and mainly for the eastern end of Nassau County. But others did see about a half of an inch of rainfall or at least near it. Now, the other issue we're gonna be watching for from tonight's going its small is some foggy conditions. So just note that visibility is gonna be on the lower end as we wait up for tomorrow, especially near Huntington. 44 degrees areas of fog going to be chilly and for our school day forecast we're gonna be seeing in our afternoon. We're looking at those fifties rolling in with early sun as well. A quick look at what we're gonna be seeing for our 10 day forecast. Just notes it is going to be colder after mild conditions for Monday and then we'll warm up for the weekend. All right, Julian.

Look at your forecast with meteorologist Michelle Powers Michelle, what can we expect? All right. Well, that alarm is going to be going off before you know it. And good news is the weather will have improved. Sunshine is on the way as we start the new work week here. So hopefully that should put a smile on your face and give you a little bit of a boost of energy in the morning after a very soggy sunday, this upcoming week is going to be a colder week for us. Excluding tomorrow, tomorrow is great and there could be some rain on the way by next weekend. So we have several dry days in a row and the weather has actually changed a little bit for us this upcoming week. Well, those winds are back by tomorrow afternoon, a little bit dusty at point. So if tomorrow is your trash pickup day and you don't get home until later, that trash can be moved slightly here. We're looking at winds 10 to 15 miles an hour, but gusts are going to be a little bit higher than that. Now, taking a look at that extended forecast, temperatures will drop. Tuesday, you'll feel that effect. Highs, only in the forties, lows at night will be in the thirties and same thing for Wednesday and Thursday. Now it looks drier. Midweek. There's going to be a storm developing offshore a little too far away from us now to really see any type of precipitation. Now, temperatures warm up the end of the week and next weekend back into the fifties, but Sunday could be some rain. So you will need those umbrellas once again. And if you have outdoor plans next weekend, you might want to have a plan be for Sunday. And that's a look at your local forecast come.
