Pet parents. You don't always have to turn to the pros to keep your dog looking his or her best. Our Amy mcgorry shows you some at home grooming tips that you can go ahead and try. All right. So what do we do at home? Ok. So the most important thing I can recommend is brush your dog. You want to take a slicker brush or honestly, any kind of brush, you have your own hairbrush won't hurt, you know, you want to brush them out and then you want to buy a home and a comb, you're gonna go through to the skin of the dog. You wanna make sure you're going all the way through so that the air flow can get to the skin. If it doesn't, the dogs can get infections in their skin, you know, things can crawl in their bugs that we wanna and he's in and we want, we don't want that, we don't want that. Now, what do you do if the dog's hairs get or a cat like you see, it's matted. So if the dog is matted, it depends on how bad if you start brushing your dog, I'd say, try to do it at least three times a week. Um, if it's really bad and out of control, you're gonna wanna call your vet. Don't try to scissors. It's very easy to cut the dog. Um, you're gonna call a vet and you're gonna say, you know what? I have a problem. I can't get into my groomer right now. Can you just help me with shaving some of the mats out? Most, most vets will help you out. It becomes a health issue after a certain while. Sometimes it's not only cosmetic, we want them to look great, but we want healthy most importantly and nails you brought up, don't, maybe don't try this at home. I would leave to your bed or your groomer. Even if you can't get a grooming appointment, usually your vet will be able to cut the nails for you because they don't wanna get a call saying you, your dog's bleeding and you have to rush in and fix it. So they will definitely do that for you and the risk of infection.
