And speaking of ice is expected to get colder out there. Meteorologist Michelle Powers joins us now and we are on storm watch. Michelle, what can you tell us? Well, we have a lot more rain before the morning comes and roads are going to be wet. It's going to be sloppy as we start the day. But temperatures are above freezing, we're going to watch them fall throughout the day and heading into Tuesday, any standing water that is left over that could become icy. So plan ahead. Now there could be some minor slowdowns on the roads and as for snow don't get your hopes up. There's a chance as you go up in elevation and throughout parts of the Poconos, that's where really most of this will fall. So the colder air rushes in temperatures are really going to drop as we head into Tuesday morning, we're near freezing. The next couple of mornings will be much colder daytime, highs in the forties and no rain in sight until next weekend.

Welcome back to News 12 of the Bronx for local matters. I'm Phil Tate. We are on Storm March tonight. We have Storm March team, meteorologist Ho oa Hope. I mean, this second wave of wet weather is really kicking up, but tell us how is this going to really be impacting our morning commute? Yeah, you know, you know, the rain is going to continue into the morning commute. So this is just something that we have to deal with and just prepare for and we're not just dealing with the rain. We're also dealing with a strong two damaging winds, 40 to 50 MPH and that can cause some power outages across portions of our area. Crashing. Temperatures will be in the sixties at midnight, crashing to the forties by Monday morning. And then we have some travel troubles, especially for your morning commute, standing water and any wind damage can reduce visibility and also just cause some hazardous conditions on area roadways. So let's have it out on your future cast overnight. We're still dealing with the periods heavy rain and some strong gusts 3545 MPH and even through four or five o'clock in the morning, temperatures will be in the mid forties and we're dealing with that steady rainfall, maybe even a few isolated downpours to at least 7 a.m. Eight AM. The rain is lighter and then we're seeing some clearing skies by the afternoon, 1212 30. But temperatures will be in the mid forties. The winds will be persistent throughout the day. That is gonna feel like temperatures to be in the mid to upper 30. So that's a real shock in the system, especially coming off of a 60 degree day. So Monday night into your Tuesday morning, it is expected to feel like the twenties because of those winds. So back to our winds, the winds will be out of the northwest. So now it's bringing in that cooler pocket of air 5 a.m. 2325 MPH and we're seeing it in that ballpark for the majority of the day, even reaching near 30 at times and that is going to take us into your two morning. So this is what you need to prepare for for Tuesday morning. Again, temperatures will be in the twenties to start feeling like the mid to upper thirties during the afternoon. But on the plus side, at least it's dry. We're not dealing with any wet weather for the next several days. So that's something that we can finally look forward to. So the storm watch continues for the first half of your morning commute, drying out by the afternoon, temperatures will be in the mid forties feeling like the thirties even colder by Tuesday. Let's just get through this together.

Is needed. The Arbor Corps of Engineers says it's about to start a $100 million project to widen two flood prone rivers, fix bridges and fix retaining walls. So Matt, a lot of these communities are concerned because of what happened during the last storm. What's going on with this? Yes. So we still have a couple more hours about three hours or so of some light to moderate rain, at least at this point. So the fact that we're not seeing major flooding issues right now, great news as we go throughout mid morning because the conditions will improve over the next few hours. Actually, some good ability right now out towards the Hudson River and towards the Mario Cuomo bridge. Let's take a look at what the weather is doing right now where you are. So as we go throughout this morning, you can see all of the green on live top the radar that is still the rain. There are a few snow pelts mixed in in Orange County and Ulster County for sure. Temperatures are in the upper thirties to near forties still they'll start to drop as we go throughout the next couple of hours over towards North White Plains, seeing some moderate rain mount pleasant Phillips Manor. More of the same looking in Western Orange County like I showed you a few minutes ago. It's deer park getting some wet snow mixing in, but it's not sticking with those temperatures in the upper thirties to near 40 where that snow can stick on colder surfaces. Is in Hardenburg over towards Denning those higher elevations of northwestern Ulster County. That's where you could see a little bit of a light snow accumulation before this completely wraps up. So you can see on the eastern, the warmer side of the storm, all that rain. But on the colder side of the storm, you can see some of that snow and the back edge of this is starting to push into eastern Pennsylvania. Temperatures 44 in Yonkers, the coldest, they are middle and upper thirties even in those areas. Getting some snow in northern Ulster County winds have subsided a bit for sure. The strongest winds still to our east over Connecticut parts of Long Island, but we're still getting some gusts to around 20 to 25 MPH. And even as the storm leaves, we will still have some gusty conditions behind it into the afternoon. So here is the storm watch featurecast from right now and through around 7730 this morning, the rain and any mixing going on is winding down and we'll break for sunshine after nine o'clock this morning, but it's going to be a cold feel outside all throughout the Hudson Valley afternoon, temperatures lower to middle forties but winds can still gust in the 20 to 30 mile per hour range into the afternoon. So it will feel like the thirties stress warmly into the afternoon. If you could hold off traveling a few hours, it'll be much, much better by mid morning. The rest of the week, pretty quiet weather conditions with highs in the low forties through Thursday, then a warm up Friday into the weekend before more rain moves in late on Sunday. All right now. Checking our forecast now, Rich Hoffman is back with us last night was really bad. So people waking up right now wondering what's going on out there. Yeah, the Christmas lights went out from all the rain and the sockets there and some decorations down. I saw her driving in this morning a lot of wet roads and it's kind of that sneaky flooding where it's on the side of the roads, it's really dark out there and we're going to be watching that we still have some pockets of a steadier rain right now. And as we go throughout the rest of the morning, we're going to start to improve our weather and we have snow north and west of Long Island. So it is turning colder here for you around the rest of today. Let's take a look at your Doppler radar this morning. You can see the steadier rain more out towards the east end right now with the yellow. So anytime you see yellow in our Doppler radar, that's a steadier rain with some pockets of heavier rain, you can see some of that right now from Southampton over Shelter Island towards or point moving towards East Hampton and Springs. Again, there is that sneaky flooding with some of the sides of the roads being flooded and again, give yourself extra travel time here this morning. With that wet weather, you can see from riverhead to Mattituck, Southampton over to Mastic. We are watching the rainy conditions. The last advisory just expired. We did have a flood advisory until 445 this morning. Now there are no advice or warning The high wind warning, the flood watts, the wind advisory all have been dropped right now. We're just looking at steadier showers here in Roslyn or Brookville Hicksville, Levittown, East Massapequa over towards uh Hempstead to Elmont to uh areas of Kings Point. We're looking at the soggy conditions, still looking at some wind gusts right now, around 30 MPH, we had some wind gusts last night, 40 to 50 MPH. And you will notice over the next couple of hours as the cold air moves in, still some wind gusts close to 40 MPH. Now, temperatures are in the forties. They've been dropping all night long. We dropped 13 degrees last night once the cold front has passed. And you can see this morning at the bus stop in Seaford 44 degrees 47 later today. But with a gusty wind, it's got a chill to the air this afternoon, rainy conditions. The rain will start to taper off west to east over Long Island between eight and 11 o'clock this morning. This afternoon, sunshine. A gusty wind. Temperatures are in the forties. Tomorrow morning, temperatures are dropping into the upper twenties to around 30 Tuesday, mostly chilly. A high of 44. So the rain will start to taper off over the next couple of hours. Improving weather conditions. Sunshine this afternoon at 47 watch out for wet roads this morning and exceed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday dry into Saturday. More wet weather coming in Sunday into Monday.

And we're taking another look at the forecast. Morning, temperatures are going to be warm, but temps will fall throughout the day and there's still rain out there for that morning commute. So there could be a couple of issues on the roads plan accordingly. Travel could be a little disrupted by that rain. Now, there will be some snow falling mainly north, but that's going to be very brief and it doesn't look like we'll see much of an accumulation, but either way it's going to be damp out for the morning commute, the afternoon will be and colder. So make sure you have something waterproof for the morning, grab a rain jacket, don't wear the good shoes tomorrow, it's going to be very wet out, but later it up underneath because temperatures will be colder. S ra are still looking pretty messy across the area. And like I mentioned in terms of snow, there's not going to be very much but just parts of northern Litchfield County and as you go up in elevation, so this upcoming week as a whole is going to be a lot drier than what we're seeing right now. And those temperatures are in the forties.

Live Life Better: How iconic rapper Styles P has led a healthy lifestyle

Hip hop icon styles. P is best known as a founding member of the legendary rap group, The Locks. But for the last 20 years, he's made it his mission to lead a healthy lifestyle. And he's so dedicated to helping others that he opened his own health food store juice bar and created his own line of supplements. I just caught up with him at his store Pharmacy for life to find out more about his mission styles. B you went from singing. It's all about the Meins baby to now you're making Benjamins with Pharmacy for life. Talk to me about why you decided to transition into health and wellness uh Being in being in music business for a long time. And um I was fortunate enough to move to a more fluent neighborhood and seeing that I kind of understood what neighborhood is like where I originally came from. So that, that kind of forced me to go into the juice business. We have five locations of juices for life. So once we see people gravitate to juicing, juicing up food and veggies, um I have a beautiful smart wife. Thank God for her. She was like we need to take it to the next level and introduce people to what we use and what we have in our medicine cabinet and a lot of poor people. Um People from misfortunate places, poverty places don't have health insurance. Uh They don't go to the doctor enough. So we just try to influence them to practice um preventative measures. Now, how would you say that your supplement shock differs from some of the others that our market our supplement because everything is plant based, everything is organic. We focus on people understanding we don't not question their medicine. We don't, we're not against it, but we try to tell people this works along with a healthy diet. Ok. Well, for some people who may not know about some of the supplements that are good for us, what would you say are uh a good place to start an injury supplement for us? I would say black seed oil oil is, takes, takes out excess mucus exits phlegm. It's good for your brain function. Good for your bones, good for acne, good for diabetes, good for high blood pressure, anti cancer properties, good for skin issues. So that's if there was one supplement that I always would have to take that, that would be that. How, how often should you take something like I take it? I take it 34 times out of the week. Really. Um Besides our supplements, not just our supplements. Um I tell people with even what other supplements they take, whether it's vitamin C BT zinc, uh You wanna trick your body, you don't wanna get used to the same routine. So I'll take black seed, oil, oil or oregano, sea moss for one week. Next week. I'm on the elder and zinc. So, vitamin C something different. And some people don't know when to switch up, they say, oh, well, you know, the natural fruits and stuff for a way to get some of these. And then some people have pills and then some people have a liquid that's the best form to get some of these. I think it's the best form for one person in particular. I think it's about a person learning their own body learning how they feel what works for them. Um going through trials and tribulations. What I feel is a great thing to do is try to keep a little um whether you go on your phone and your notes. Are you at home? Keeping a, keep a personal journal of what you took and how you felt when you was taking it. Like what works better for you? It's like, it's all, it's the same thing as foods. You know what your favorite foods are. You know, when you wanna eat them, when you wanna have them, you have to apply the same thing with, with, with supplements, herbs or f food and just figure out what works for you and what's the best and um go about it that way. Everybody is different. Yeah. Well, I know a lot of people will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop. So they may definitely need to some of these to recover. But as a, a legend in the industry, as a member of the locks, what would you say was the most memorable time from hip hop for you? Um That's hard to say my, my, I've been fortunate enough to have a uh a long, long career, the locks. We had a long career. Uh I would say the Grammys though, the Grammy doing this year with the Grammys with so many um greats that came before me and just seeing all the greats in the building at one time was definitely a high point in my career, right?
