A little girl is alive thanks to three police officers who saved her from an intense fire Tuesday at a New Jersey condo complex, just over the Rockland County border.
The police convinced the girl to jump from a third-floor balcony at the complex in Mahwah into the arms of officers below. "She was very brave, very brave; she just listened to what we told her - climbed right over the balcony and jumped," says Mahwah Police Sgt. Brendan Mullin.
The girl and everyone else evacuated were not hurt.
Officials say a kitchen fire may have been the source of the flames. An investigation is being done by a Mahwah arson investigator.
