305ds agoThe LOFT: LGBT Community Services Center in White Plains has launched a rock climbing group for members of the LGBT community.
Miri Dainson, director of The Cliffs at Valhalla, pitched the idea to The Loft in the hopes of connecting their gym with more LGBT resources. The group meets the first Monday of every month. It is open to all, regardless of skill level and experience.
For LGBT individuals struggling to find their “chosen family,” the group provides friendship and acceptance. Loft volunteer Lucy Rudd praises the group's dedication to their cause.
“There are very few events we can actually get together and be face to face with our community,” said Rudd.
