Thursday marked the final last day of school at Lewisboro Elementary School, which will be closed by the time school starts again in September.
The school board voted earlier this year to close the school, citing declining enrollment in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. Students will be split up among the three other schools in the district.
Parents tell News 12 that they are not happy with the school closing because it could mean larger classrooms and longer commutes. Some parents say their children are upset because they will be split up from their friends.
The district says closing Lewisboro could save the district $1 million annually.
