Legislator Aron Wieder came out against a controversial video purporting anti-Semitism in the area after being repeatedly pressed by the media.
"The Jew in Rockland" is a YouTube video created for the Orthodox Jewish Affairs Council that claims there is an alarming rise of anti-Semitism in Rockland County.
The video also takes aim at previous posts on the "Block the Block Vote" Facebook page that accused the Hasidic community of having poor hygiene and not paying their taxes
While Wieder condemned the hateful speech, he acknowledged that the video has further divided a Ramapo community already polarized over issues, including how to run the school district.
News 12 reached out to the Orthodox Jewish Affairs Council. It said it has no intention of taking down the video until the creators of the Block the Block Vote Facebook page takes down their site.
