On this "Road Trip Close to Home," you have to be 21 to taste it, but any age to make it!
We're talking about the unique beer-brewing classes offered at Clover Brooke Farm in Hyde Park.
Each month, visitors can sign up to learn about how it's done with farm co-owner and yeast geneticist Dr. Mike Tibbetts.
"Because I have a background in genetics and biochemistry, I like to talk about those parts of it," Dr. Tibbets said, "the components on the surface are fairly simple, but you can really get deep into the understanding of the chemistry behind it and the biology."
You'll learn that brewing beer is an extensive and experimental process that can take upwards of three weeks.
However, these classes will bring you the basics of home brewing in just about two hours.
"I've had students in this class who have never brewed before, I've actually had some students who've run classes themselves, so a huge range of people who are interested," Dr. Tibbets said.
It's a fascinating step-by-step experience that can spark an appreciation for the art that goes into a brew.
Clover Brooke Farm also offers many other experiences and classes throughout the year for all ages to learn something new.
