An intersection prone to deadly accidents in Yonkers is now getting the attention of local lawmakers.
The intersection at the corner of Central Park Avenue and Arlington Street has been the site of several deadly accidents over the past few years. Yonkers City officials met Tuesday to brainstorm how to make the intersection safer. One resident says a line of parked cars on the street may be blocking drivers? view. Another resident feels drivers should not be able to make U-turns at that corner.
Meanwhile, Yonkers police have increased speeding patrols in the area. Timing was also adjusted on the light at the intersection. One solution officials are considering is installing cameras that would catch drivers running red lights.
