A graduation ceremony was held in Tarrytown Wednesday for Hispanic students in a program that helps them get into college.
Latino U has helped over 100 students get into college so far, and many students say they are just thankful that the program helped them achieve their dream.
"I feel really proud to represent my family," said Sabrina Morales, senior at Fox Lane High School. "They came to this country without a lot of money, and they had to find jobs here. They kind of realized their American dream through me, and that feels really good."
Proud family members packed the Westchester Marriott Monday for Latino U's graduation event.
The program helps academically talented Hispanic students from low-income households apply and get into college. It also helps them get scholarships to further their education.
Staff at Latino U say they are looking forward to helping hundreds of other students in the future
