Westchester County Executive George Latimer declared Nov. 8 Veteran Joseph Frank Day in honor of the county's oldest living veteran.
Joseph Frank served as an Army infantryman during World War II.
He saw combat overseas and earned several commendations, including the Purple Heart and the American Defense Service Medal during his time in service.
"What sets Mr. Frank apart is not just as remarkable military service and also his deep-rooted connection to Westchester, a lifelong resident who attended Portchester High School, and he holds the distinction of being our county's oldest living veteran at the remarkable age of 106," said Latimer.
