Workers at a business in Larchmont used their skills Sunday to help Syrian refugees.
Gjoko Salon and Spa held a fundraiser on Sunday and used the profits raised to go toward the Syrian crisis.
"We've been blessed with great clientele and great success so we just want to be able to help serve communities that are underserved as well as communities that are in need,” says Nikko Shkreli, of Gjoko Salon and Spa.
The stylists donated their time, and the salon offered discounted prices, so that 100 percent of profits will be donated to UNICEF, a humanitarian nonprofit that helps save the lives of Syrian refugee children.
Gjoko's staff says this will be the first of many fundraisers for a cause. They hope this event will inspire other local businesses to give to charities anyway they can.
Millions of Syrians have fled their country and more than 300,000 have been killed in the bloody civil war.
