Three families had to flee their four-story building in Yonkers after an early morning kitchen fire.
Fire officials say the blaze broke out just after 3:30 a.m. today on the top floor of a home at 146 Warburton Avenue. They say the flames were contained to the one apartment, but that it suffered extensive damage. Crews tell News 12 that two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
The gas has been turned off to the entire building until inspectors deem it safe to turn back on. It is unknown when the three families will be able to return to their homes
There is no word yet on what sparked the fire, but officials say it doesn't appear suspicious.
