Dennis Weiss passed away Sunday night, surrounded by his family.
The announcement was made by his family in a Facebook post the following morning.
The cause of his demise has not been disclosed.
Throughout his life, Weiss was deeply involved in the community, serving in various capacities including Town Councilman and Town Supervisor for four decades. He was also a life member of the Sawkill Fire Department, holding positions as both President and Treasurer.
Additionally, Weiss was a Navy veteran, serving from 1971 to 1976.
Details about a celebration of his life will be announced in the coming days.
