Kingston man faces lengthy prison term for assault and strangulation

William Knox, a 29-year-old resident of Kingston, could be sentenced to more than a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to charges of strangulation and assault.
Knox's guilty plea stemmed from an incident in which he choked his ex-girlfriend in the presence of her child.
Additionally, he faced assault charges for an altercation with a corrections officer during his transfer to Ulster County Jail in connection with the strangulation case.
Upon sentencing scheduled for January, Knox could face five to seven years in state prison for each charge, marking a potentially lengthy incarceration period.
