A $2 million project will transform four homes in Ulster County and prioritize first-time homeowners of color.
The structure of the single-family homes will be upgraded, in addition to the plumbing, electricity heating and cooling.
The homes will get new kitchens, baths, roofing, flooring, windows and doors, as well as asbestos treatment.
Whoever gets to buy one of the houses will go through the "Give Us Credit" program which will use alternative credit analysis and down payment assistance.
It's part of New York's $25 million Legacy City ACCESS Program.
