The City of Kingston is pushing back against rampant gun violence with an unusual exchange.
The city is collecting guns with no questions asked. In return, it's giving away gift cards for groceries.
The program is called "Groceries for Guns," and people can use the gift cards at Hannaford Supermarket.
Due to the pandemic, there is no drop-off location for weapons. Instead, residents can contact the Kingston police and arrange a meeting.
The anonymous tip line number is 845-331-4499.
