Kids celebrate reopening of Sprain Ridge Activity Pool
Sprain Ridge Pool in Yonkers is now open after undergoing major repairs.
The pool was reopened in 2017 after being closed for several years so renovations could be done. Westchester County Executive George Latimer says the job by the Rob Astorino administration was rushed, forcing him to shut it down last year to make necessary repairs. He says the pool is now up to standards and is safe to be used again.
The complex has three different areas, and the activity pool and "spray deck" are what reopened Friday. The competition pool is set to reopen later this summer.
Kids going in the pool Friday said they don't care why it was closed in the past, they are just ready to cool off.
