A Kent couple is trying to find their cat following a fire at their two-story home Tuesday night.
The couple's home at 928 White Pond Colony Road went up in flames just after 11 p.m. Tuesday.
An elderly couple and their two caretakers all made it out of the fire uninjured, but a desperate search is now on for the family's cat, Murray.
Dozens of firefighters from multiple departments responded to the scene, working in windy and frigid conditions and without fire hydrant access.
Neighbors are helping to search for Murray, and the Putnam SPCA is setting humane traps.
"He could just be hiding, and when he calms down, come back to the area. I'm absolutely pulling for Murray," says Jill Gianfransico, of the Putnam SPCA.
If you've seen the cat, please call the Putnam SPCA at 845-520-6915.
