Students at Katonah Elementary School took part in the second annual World Sport Stacking Association competition to achieve a Guinness world record in cup stacking.
The school was just one of many around the world that tried to get the record for most people sport stacking at multiple locations in one day. It was the school?s first time being involved.
Students start out with 12 cups and try to build as many pyramids as fast as they can. Fifth-graders Juliette Green, Billy Pappas and Shane Swatz have been named the fastest stackers in the school.
Pappas says the activity helps him with eye, hand and foot coordination.
Teachers agree that stacking can be beneficial for students. Principal Jonathan Kaplan says it improves concentration, reading and math skills.
